With the answer provided in this manner, users do not need to click on any article and scroll through it in order to find their answer. This is a no-click search– users staying on their webpage as opposed to yours.

This could be frustrating to some businesses who want to increase their website traffic. However, it still means that your webpage is providing useful information. The key here is to ensure that your webpage does in fact provide said snippet of attractive information that will entice the reader into clicking on your webpage link for more information. You can do this by updating page titles to indicate what readers are likely to come across on your webpage. You can alternatively make your ‘how-to’ list longer while staying accurate.

No-click searches are highly beneficial to readers but that doesn’t mean you can’t make the most of them as well. Convenient access to information in no-click searches can pay off, driving traffic to your site. When you happen to be the subject of a no-click search you know you’re doing something right and you can even go as far as to say you’re half way there.

Businesses on a local platform such as plumbing services or electricians predominantly rely on Google’s My Business listing. With a well-defined geographical listing of services helps users when they do  a “near me” search. With a single glance your audience can grasp details like address, contact number and even view previous reviews.

The key here is to make sure the details that are displayed are accurate and up-to-date. Some of the benefits of doing this are:

A Google search for a restaurant would be – Chinese restaurant near me, whereas a voice search with Alexa would be – where is the closest Chinese restaurant near me? Bearing these differences in mind when curating content and choosing keywords based on the questions people may ask either Alexa, Siri or Google can increase the likelihood of your business turning up first on the list.
